The structure and application of floating tank
A floating tank is one of the machines to recycle waste plastic. Recently, there are a lot of people who work in the plastic recycling sector consulted me for some information about the floating tanks. So I wrote down this article to introduce the structure and application of floating tanks for people to refer to. I hope this will help you if you are looking for a floating tank.
1. The structure of floating tank
The floating tank mainly consists of a floating system, drive system, sludge discharge system, the body of the floating tank, etc..
1.1 The part of the body of floating tank
The body of the floating tank is made of stainless steel to make sure there are no rust and other impurities mixing with raw material. And the stainless steel also makes sure the service life of the floating tank.
1.2 Floating system
The floating system mainly consists of rotary wheels and forks. The rotary wheels and forks work at the same time to float material. It likes the washing machine to stir to remove dust and dirty things attached to the surface of the material.
1.3 Drive system
The drive system mainly consists of the motor of the rotary wheel and fork, the motor of the slag extractor, the motor of slag collector, and the chain, etc..
1.4 Slag extractor system
It mainly consists of stirring wheels, the motor of the extractor, and the motor of the slag collector.
1.5 What is the difference in the structure of the floating tank for different materials?
1.5.1 Rotary wheels and forks
There are differences in the structures of rotary wheels and forks. Please look through the following pictures.

This rotary wheels are mainly used to wash PET bottles’ scrapes, etc.

This rotary wheel is mainly used to wash films, but it also can be used to wash scrapes. From a structural point of view, the first picture will meet bigger resistance during washing. But for the second, there are small holes on the plate, so the resistance can be reduced when the rotary wheels work in the water. And its work efficiency is more higher and its uses is wider than rotary wheels in the first picture.
For the floating tank, there are many rotary wheels, but there is only one group of forks. And the forks are installed on the discharge.
2. The application of floating tank
The floating is not only used to wash dust and dirty things attached to the scrapes or films, but also is used to separate PET bottles from bottle caps, and other different materials.
2.1 Working principle
The floating tank can separate different materials because the different materials have a different specific gravity in the water. The material will be floating on the water if its density is smaller than water, and the material will sink in the bottom of water if its density is bigger than water. The material floating on the surface of the water will be excreted from the discharge port drove by rotary wheels and forks. And the material sinking in the bottom of the water will be collected by slag collector and then being excreted with dust and other dirty things by slag extractor.
